Toronto Photo Gallery - St. Jacobs Market

A short day trip out of Toronto is St. Jacobs Market, located in Waterloo, about an hour west of the city. This area is home to the largest population of Old Order Mennonites in the country. Started in 1952 in Kitchener, the market moved to the current site in 1975. Today's market has a wide selection of produce, craft, and other flea market items. An outlet mall has opened across the street as well.

Do you want to get a bushel of fresh fruits and vegetables?

The indoor market was quite crowded with lots of interesting items that you won't be able to find at the supermarket, such as pickled corn, hot pepper jelly, apple fritters, and freshly-made chips.

A long line snaked around from the apple fritters shop all the way outside. They're fried but taste good with the spices.

A separate tent had more items on sale, including a lot of food.
