St. Lawrence Market's building originally housed the city hall when it was built in 1844. A food market emerged around the building at the turn of the 20th century. Today, it remains a food destination, serving both raw materials as well as cooked foods. You will notice a line emerging from the seafood shop. Try the famous lobster roll.

If you like to cook seafood on your own, there are plenty of shops selling you fresh raw materials.

One of them would shuck fresh oysters for a fairly decent price.
