Kawagoe Photo Gallery

The Kashiya Yokocho is a shopping street for traditional Japanese candy.

Historic lowrise buildings line the main street in the warehouse district.

The fire-watching tower stood well above everyone else during the Edo period.

I suppose under-aged kids are disciplined enough not to buy cigarettes from these vending machines.

The Kawagoe Festival dates back to 1648 and consists of a large parade of festive floats along Kawagoe's historic core. A dedicated museum celebrates this festival year-round and some of the floats are on display.

One of two large festive floats placed in glass cases. The glare hindered photo-taking.

A large collection of annual advertising posters is on display.
