Dubai Burj Khalifa Photo Gallery

It's tall. It stands out. It dwarfs the rest of the skyline. Burj Khalifa is actually a few blocks away from the metro station of the same name. It took a bit of time to figure out where the observation deck entrance was, although the walk-around provided different angles of the building to photograph. At 828m, it continues to be the world's tallest building long after its opening in 2010.

I urge you to pre-book your tickets to the observation deck online. While you can buy on the spot, the price skyrockets for immediate entry. During my first visit in 2012, the online pre-booking price was 105 dirhams as opposed to 400 dirhams at the door. As of 2020, the online price has moved up to 149 dirhams.

The cheapest ticket brings you about half way up to the 124th floor just above 450m. You are well above the skyline already so the views are great.

Looking south, the city tapers off into desert quite quickly. Dubai is a fairly linear city stretching along the coast from east to west.

Looking east, the airport is visible on the right, and the runway stretches across the screen horizontally. The linear skyline along Sheikh Zayed Road becomes very clear. With the sun behind me, the lighting was perfect.

Looking north, the blue Persian Gulf extends far beyond the horizon.

Looking west, another cluster of new skyscrapers is under construction. This city is always under construction.

I was against the light in this direction, so Burj al Arab was no longer clearly visible.

Once done with the 360-degree view, look for the gold ATM near the elevator.

Attached to the tower is the huge Dubai Mall with over 1200 shops.
