With a very early morning flight from Barcelona, I arrived at Malaga, my first stop in Andalusia. The reason why I chose to start and end here is thanks to a well-connected airport with a big Ryanair presence, and it is only a short train ride of under 15 minutes into the city. For the next 5 days, I would be exploring 3 major towns in the region and looking out for its rich Moorish history. I had visited Seville a few years earlier so that large city was excluded from this itinerary.
With no beach time planned, I did not expect too much to do here during my short almost full day stay before continuing to Cordoba the next morning.
