Malta Photo Gallery - Malta's Southern Coast

From Mdina/Rabat, hop on bus 56 and head south towards the coast. The Dingli Cliffs are 220m high and you can walk along the cliff-top road for great sea views.

From Dingli, watch the schedules and hop on bus 201 towards several pre-historic sites towards the east. Luckily, the stop is just across the street.

Hagar Qim and Mnajdra are believed to date from 3600-3200BC. A protective covering now sits on top of both ruins. Hagar Qim is the first one after entering from the visitor's centre. The stones are massive, as high as 5.2m tall.

Both temples overlook the sea. From Hagar Qim, a paved path heads downhill to the second temple, Mnajdra.

By now, it was late afternoon. Bus 74 continues from the temples to Blue Grotto, a beautiful natural attraction for the sunset. Boat tours depart from the small town down the hill, but you can enjoy views from above at the Panorama bus stop further uphill.
