A special exhibition took place from December 2023 - March 2024 featuring Emperor Wanli, the 13th emperor of the Ming Dynasty. His mausoleum was the first imperial tomb from that dynasty to be excavated. He reigned for 48 years during the late 16th and early 17th century. Some of those unearthed artifacts are on display here.
The permanent exhibition showcases the area's history from ancient to more recent times. Nanshan was part of the Maritime Silk Road as a coastal fortress.
