Stockholm Photo Gallery - Södermalm

Venturing out from the Hilton hotel in Slussen, I headed into the side streets looking for the raised platform above Soder Malarstrand with a view of the water and Gamla Stan.

Monteliusvägen is a pedestrian pathway perched along the rocky hillside well worth a visit. The views are as good but without the crowds or a need to spend money.

This area is referred to as Mariaberget, which was rebuilt after a fire in 1759. Stone buildings rose from the ashes and the steep winding alleys were preserved.
