The Turia river once flowed through the city centre and today, 18 bridges still cross it amidst 9km of green space. In October 1957, a devastating flood forced authorities to divert the river away, and the land that arose as a result became today's parkland.
The bridges date from varying periods, with Trinidad from the 15th century and San Jose from the 17th century.
A short walk from Puente del Real is Plaza de Tetuan, which is surrounded by beautiful buildings. The plaza itself was nothing special though.
