Yangshuo is located some 90 km south of Guilin along the Li River. Set amidst the spectacular karst landscape, it is a tourist town and a good base to explore the area's beauty.
West Street in the town center comes to life at night with a long pedestrian shopping street offering souvenirs and snacks. This is not the reason to visit the town though, but a good place to stroll at night after the sun sets.
Many restaurants in the town serve beer fish, which is made from local carp fried, then put into a soup with beer and vegetables.

West Street has many shops and stalls selling all sorts of food.

There are also a lot of loud bars with live performances inside, a huge contrast to the area's stunning and serene natural beauty.
