Ise-Shima Photo Gallery

Ise-Shima is a good weekend getaway from the city, with trains taking less than an hour and a half from Nagoya. It is a major Shinto religious centre and has plenty of coastline for picturesque views and seafood.

If staying in the Osaka-Nagoya area for a few days, consider getting the Kintetsu Rail Pass, which is valid for 5 days. From Nagoya, it includes travel to and around the Ise-Shima area as well as Yonoyama and Iga, which are workable day trips. Its biggest downside is exclusion from Limited Express trains , which make Kyoto or Osaka out of reach for a day trip.
