Charlotte Photo Gallery

Charlotte is named after George III's queen and dates from the mid-18th century. Ironically, it played a large role in America's independence from Britain when the Mecklenburg Declaration was signed here in 1775.
Known as a secondary financial centre today, I arrived with an overnight connection made possible thanks to affordable hotels and a short bus ride from the airport to downtown, or Uptown as locals call it.
