Being the western end of the Silk Road, Constantinople served as a bridge between the East and the West. Its glorious history has left behind numerous relics to explore appreciate.
I spent around 5 days exploring mostly the European side of the city with a day trip to the Asian side. The Golden Horn would easily take up 2 days, and be sure to take a ferry or cruise to admire the scenery on both sides of the Bosphorus. Based in Sultanahmet for easy access to the top sights on foot, as well as the metro line to the airport, I left amazed and agreeing this is one of the greatest cities in the world.
