Chubu Countryside Photo Gallery

The Chubu area lies in the middle of Honshu between Tokyo and Kyoto. It is famous for the mountainous terrain along the Japanese Alps, beautiful historic villages, and coastal scenery.

I toured the area using the JR Alpine-Takayama-Matsumoto Area Tourist Pass, which allows travel north of Nagoya around the various towns on both sides of the Alpine Route.
